The Experience

Ryan will act as host and facilitate direct channeled healing and communication from Shams with William sitting as demonstration. While we cannot guarantee a 1-1 personal communication for each guest, the healing is communal. By simply sitting within the vibration of the session, your energy and imagination interacts with this high-frequency transmission. Expect shifts, clarity, and the profound "heart-opening" characteristic of Shams' lineage. There will also be a powerful group healing for all present and a few surprises along the way!

The Sun and the Moon: The Story of Rumi and Shams

The Encounter that Shattered a World

Before he was the poet of the heart, Rumi was a man of the book. A renowned scholar and pillar of 13th-century Konya, his life was defined by logic, law, and the quiet halls of academia. But in 1244, a wandering dervish named Shams of Tabriz arrived like a lightning bolt.

In their first meeting, legend says Shams threw Rumi’s precious manuscripts into a fountain, telling him that the time for reading was over—it was time to live the truth. This was the beginning of a bond that would change the course of literature and spirituality forever.

Forty Days of Silence and Fire

The two men vanished into a period of intense seclusion known as khalwa. For forty days—some say forty months—they remained alone together, engaged in a spiritual dialogue so profound it transcended the physical world. This was not a romance in the modern, earthly sense, but a "Sohbet" (spiritual conversation) where two souls mirrored one another to find the Divine.

Shams was the fire, and Rumi was the wax. Under Shams’ influence, the rigid scholar transformed into a mystical poet. He stopped lecturing and began to dance; he stopped reciting law and began to sing.

The Language of the Beloved

The intensity of their connection sparked deep jealousy among Rumi’s students, who felt their master had been "stolen" by a stranger. This friction only deepened Rumi’s poetry. In his masterwork, the Diwan-e Shams-e Tabrizi, Rumi refers to Shams as his "Beloved."

While modern eyes often search for a romantic or "queer" label, history tells a different story, as context of time and place matters. To Rumi, Shams was not a lover in the sense we would imagine, and their intimacy was a union of souls—a friendship so fierce it burned away Rumi’s ego, leaving only love and connection to the divine behind.

When Shams eventually disappeared, Rumi’s grief did not break him—it opened him. He realized that Shams was no longer a person outside of him, but their relationship would endure forever as a light within him.

Join us as we explore this timeless journey from the head to the heart, honoring a love that refused to be small, physical, or ordinary—a love that taught the world how to weep.
