The mainstream spiritual industry is profoundly obsessed with the savior complex. We are bombarded with advertisements, workshops, and certifications that feed the ego’s favorite internal whisper: I have the power to heal people. We step into the psychic arts carrying a hidden, heavy drive to rescue the crowd, fix the broken, and force the world into a state of alignment through our own energetic muscle.

But the poet and author Jaiya John shatters this illusion with a single, uncompromising truth: Healing another person is not possible.

In his text All These Rivers and You Chose Love, he notes that the world likes to claim a farmer grows things. But a farmer actually grows nothing at all. Things grow themselves. The farmer’s true work is simply to help cultivate the vital, nourishing conditions necessary for growth.

In the exact same way, a true healer is not someone who forces anything; they are someone who holds the space and cultivates the environment where healing becomes possible. Only the afflicted can heal themselves. A practitioner is made the exact moment they stop trying to play savior and instead realize that their actual gift is in being so radically in their own energy, the create an environment where another person's healing and return to wholeness is possible.

The Enmeshed Garden: The Mechanics of Forcing Energy

When you drop out of the center of your head and approach a reading or a healing with the desire to "fix", you are defaulting to an exhausting energetic posture. You are treating their space like a compromised project rather than a autonomous space.

The moment you tell yourself I need to heal this person, your solar plexus chakra goes into overdrive, your aura layers bleed across the room, and you begin pulling their energy into your own physical framework. You mistake this codependent enmeshment for empathy. You assume that because your body feels heavy and exhausted after a session, you must have done "deep work."

But forcing energy is not power; it is simply strain.

When you operate from the savior complex, you are validating the client's underlying picture of victimhood. You are unconsciously stating that they are not senior to their own space, and that they require an external force to restore their light. This mainstream, highly clinical approach to spirituality flattens the intrinsic power of the human spirit, turning a sacred exchange into a stiff, transactional performance.

True clairvoyant mastery requires you to completely drop the spade, step back across the property line, and return to your own center. You are a guide helping others to birth and foster their own inner landscape. You are not their garden, and you are not what grows there.

Cultivating the Empty Sandbox

To become an effective spiritual farmer, you must cultivate an unyielding commitment to neutrality. You have to learn the art of creating an empty, safely held container where the client’s spirit can finally look at its own material without judgment or correction.

"Creativity is an act of trust. We do not manufacture the divine spark; we simply clear away the ash so the fire can breathe on its own terms."

Matthew Fox

When you sit firmly in the center of your head and anchor your awareness, you stop trying to manage the outcome of the session. You stop policing the client’s pacing or judging their stagnation. You become a clean, neutral mirror reflecting the absolute truth their spirit already holds.

This is what allows for a true "ceremonial wilding" of your intuitive voice. You stop editing your perception to fit a rigid, civilized framework. You let your readings become wild, uproarious, and revolutionary. You don’t subtract the client's suffering; you provide the rich, fertile, un-colonized soil that gives them permission to face their own fears, ignite their burning passion fires, and choose their own path toward collective liberation.

🔮 Weekly Reading Exercise: The Gardener’s Line of Separation

Pair up with a reading partner this week, or in your own Clairvoyant Meditation Practice use your tools of discerning and focus them on the difference between the True Self and a dominant sub-personality. You can also ask these questions in a reading with a psychic—book a session with me if you want to look at these things together!

  • The Savior Audit: Scan your 3rd chakra (the solar plexus) and your outer aura lines. Look for any active cords or hooks where you have unconsciously taken on the burden of "fixing" a client, a friend, or a family member. Notice if your energy is straining to force an outcome.

  • The Property Line Scan: Look directly at the boundary between your personal field and the person you are reading. Is there a clear line of demarcation, or have your gardens become completely enmeshed? Identify any foreign weeds or emotional sediment you’ve pulled into your spine.

  • Locating the Core Sprout: Look past the client's surface chaos, anxiety, or illness. Locate the exact vibration of their intrinsic choice to return to wholeness. What color is it? Is it vibrant, or is it currently buried beneath their ancestral programming?

  • Healing Focus: Give a clean healing on the center of your head and your main energy channels. Step back into your absolute sovereignty. With complete psychic neutrality, pack any foreign responsibilities, panic, or savior pictures into an energetic container and blow it up completely away from your aura.

🤳 One Small Step: Turning Over the Spade

The next time you find yourself spiraling into a wave of rescue anxiety—feeling a desperate, heavy urge to fix someone else's emotional crisis or rewrite their choices:

  1. Hit the Pause Button: Stop the verbal or mental hustle for exactly sixty seconds. Step back into the quiet room in the center of your head.

  2. Build the Fence: Close your physical eyes and project a beautiful, vibrant rose line directly between your field and their crisis.

  3. Surrender the Crop: Ground your first chakra firmly into the earth. Look across the line and state silently to their space: "I honor your seniority. I am not your garden, and I am not what grows there." Notice the instant return of vitality to your chest and shoulders.

📓 Journaling Prompts for Deep Integration

  • The Savior Complex Genealogy: Where in your personal history or childhood conditioning did you learn the lie that your worth is measured by how many broken environments you can fix or how much foreign grief you can carry?

  • The Colonized Voice: In what ways have you been treating your psychic abilities like a stiff, rigid, mainstream performance to satisfy the expectations of others, rather than a wild, untamed act of creation?

  • The Servant's Reframe: If you completely accepted the reality that you can heal no one, how would that radical shift in perspective change the way you show up for your most challenging professional and personal relationships tomorrow?A blog post can spark a revelation, but a practice builds a life. Information without practical application is just “nice ideas” and doesn’t create meaningful growth and change.
