In 2003, I stood at the end of a long hallway of tradition. After a few years of practice and mentee-ship, I was given my Master Reiki attunement—a moment meant to signify the "completion" of a certain energetic education. Like many seekers at the turn of the millennium, I saw Reiki as the gold standard—after all, they were starting to practice it in hospitals, in spas, etc. I believed I was being "plugged in" to an ancient, benevolent source of healing light.

But as the years passed, the "attunement" of the symbols began to feel less like a gift and more like a tether. And cracks began to form in my understanding or what I had chosen to participate in.

By 2007, four years after reaching the supposed "pinnacle" of the system, I did something that many in the community would consider spiritual sacrilege: I cleared my attunements. I didn't just stop practicing this modality; I took time and care to systematically revoke my consent to the lineage, the symbols, and the energetic "middlemen" (beings) I had invited to have access to my space.

Now, with over twenty years of experience teaching meditation, clairvoyance, and energy healing, I look back on that decision as the moment my true work began. This isn't just a critique; it’s a call for spiritual autonomy.

The Architecture of the "Energetic Pyramid Scheme"

The term "energetic pyramid scheme" is provocative, but from a spiritual perspective, the mechanics track. When we enter a traditional lineage, we aren't just opening our own channels; we are accepting an energetic overlay of structure, form, and hierarchy.

1. The Lineage Siphon

In a traditional pyramid, resources funnel to the top. In energetic lineages, this happens via an Egregore—a collective thought-form created by thousands of practitioners using the same symbols. When you "invoke" a Reiki symbol, a portion of your vital force is often filtered back up the lineage to sustain the system itself. This is the "siphon"—a subtle redirection of your own attention and life-force to feed a spiritual system rather than your own direct connection to Source.

2. The "Quantum Tattoo"

An attunement is often described as "opening a channel," but your channels were already able to be open—for your own energy. What an attunement actually does is imprint a specific geometric frequency into your field. This acts as a "quantum tattoo"—an energetic marker that identifies you as a "subscriber" to that specific spiritual ISP. The problem? If that ISP has "backdoors" or "terms of service" you didn't read, you’ve essentially given a third party a key to your house. If I wanted to break into someone’s house, I would show up as a benevolent utility provider and ask to be let in.

3. The "False Light" and the Altered Signal

We are told we need symbols (the "keys") to access specific frequencies of healing that have been decided for us. But if we are all from the same source, why do we need a password? Reiki often acts as a Frequency Overlay. It creates a "clean-feeling" vibration that can be seductive, but it is often a synthesized, curated, and “approved” version of Source energy. It’s a pre-altered signal that can actually mask your unique, organic soul-signature—or the healing that you are uniquely here to provide.

Astral Management: The "Friends" in the Field

Many practitioners talk about "calling in" guides, source, or the "spirit of Reiki." In the realm of spiritual autonomy, this is a conversation about Astral Management. Many "high-vibrational" systems are managed by astral beings who act as gatekeepers. While they are often framed as benevolent "Angels" or "Masters," any being that requires a symbol or a specific "handshake" to grant you access to something like source energy is acting as a broker—a literally troll under a bridge running a protection racket. When I cleared my field in 2007, I realized I was done working with middlemen. It has taken many years to keep moving out these entities when I find them, and my work is not yet done.

Red Flags: Is Your Energy Field "Colonized"?

In my two decades of leading psychic spaces, I’ve seen practitioners hit a "glass ceiling." If you feel any of the following, your field may be operating under an outdated agreement:

  • The "Energy Hangover": Feeling profoundly drained or "hollow" after a session indicates something is taking from you, not giving.

  • The Dependency: Feeling like you "can't" heal or access energy without using a pre-determined or externally validated symbol.

  • Persistent Astral Interference: Noticing "guides" that feel intrusive or demand you work in a specific way—like when, where, and how. Your own spirit would never demand anything of you.

  • The "Floaty" Disconnect: A blissed-out, disconnected and disassociated feeling that makes it difficult to stay present in your physical body (a hallmark of False Vibration).

  • Lineage Guilt: A nagging feeling that you must "honor the founders" above your own direct intuition, or get approval and validation before following your heart.

Reclaiming Your Space: How to Revoke the Agreements

Revoking these agreements is an act of "Energetic Divorce." And don’t be naive—some of the entities won’t be happy with you for taking this step. You don't need another Master to do it for you—that would just be another agreement. Autonomy is claimed, not granted. That said, you can start this work in simple ways:

  1. The Audit of Consent: Visualize your field. Notice any symbols or tethers. Do they feel like you, or like foreign objects? Have they served their purpose? Are you still aligned with what they provide and what they extract?

  2. The Formal Revocation: Speak your intent aloud. “I revoke all agreements, conscious and unconscious, with the Reiki lineage and its associated entities. I reclaim my vital force. I dissolve all geometric overlays. I am the only authority in this space.”

  3. Erasure: If you know how, you can create and destroy the symbols over and over again until they start to discharge in your space. You can even remove them through erasure—a powerful tool to reset energy back to it’s original, neutral state.

  4. The Integration: Practice "naked" healing. Learn what your raw energy feels like without the "amplifier" of a system. It may feel quiet at first, but that is the sound of your own soul finally being heard. It’s important not to heal with your own energy, but a neutral energy that allows you to give without giving away.

The New Paradigm: Ethical Mentorship

We must also address the financial aspect. Traditional Reiki often has a "paywall" for divinity—thousands of dollars for a Master level "connection." But Source doesn't have a subscription fee.

As a teacher and coach today, my work is the antithesis of the "installation" model. I’ve traded the title of "Guru" for the truth of being simply a guide towards autonomy for all sensitives. Here is what that looks like in practice:

  • Lived Experience Over Lineage: I always defer to your lived experience. If my intuition conflicts with your internal truth, your truth wins. I am a mirror and a perspective, not a judge or arbiter.

  • Crown Sovereignty: I never place or leave my energy in a client's crown chakra. Your connection to the Divine is your private property. I stay out of your direct line; I’m not here to tell you what to believe.

  • Fostering Independence: My goal is to put myself out of a job. I don't want you to depend on my perspective, or healing energy. I want to help you build your own internal infrastructure so you can navigate the subtle realms as a sensitive being having a human experience.

Final Thoughts: Trading the Title for the Truth

In 2003, I wanted that title of "Master." In 2007, I realized the only thing worth mastering was my own autonomy. And while I don’t think I’ve fully attained it yet, I know I’m on the path because I am conscious to these dynamics and see them playing out in real time.

We are moving into an era where "systems" are falling away in favor of individual gnosis. Healing is an inherent right, not a licensed privilege to earn or be given by someone else. It is time to stop being a "node" in someone else’s network and start being the source of your own medicine. The world needs you—your unique vibration, perspective, and healing.

Are you ready to audit your agreements?
Let’s work together in a session to help de-program and remove false attunement in favor of freedom, autonomy, and your unique gifts.
